Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. in Fort Mill, SC is seeking a Special Inspector / Senior Engineering Technician to perform field inspections and testing of soils, foundations, concrete, and related materials, ensuring code and project conformance.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, performing inspections per standards, documenting results, and communicating with the project team; the role requires flexibility for weather, travel, and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or associate degree required.
• Experience in inspection and construction testing of soil, concrete, masonry and/or asphalt materials preferred.
• ACI Field Grade I Certification required.
• ICC Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Spray-Applied Fireproofing, and Structural Steel & Bolting certifications preferred.
• NICET or PTI Level I/II certifications will be considered beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings and specs and applicable building codes.
• Perform Special Inspections in the field for document and code compliance.
• Conduct routine and advanced field tests per ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, and DOT standards.
• Document observations and non-compliant items with discrepancy notices.
• Communicate effectively with ESP project staff and construction team.
• Record inspections and test results using ESP field data software.

ESP Associates, Inc. (ESP) is seeking a Special Inspector / Senior Engineering Technician to perform inspection and testing services related to, but not limited to: soils, foundations, retaining walls, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, fireproofing and post-tensioned concrete.

Responsibilities:

• Review and understand project related drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes
• Perform Special Inspections in the field for project document and code compliance
• Perform routine and advanced field tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, DOT or other standards
• Document observations and inspections of construction including discrepancy notices for non-compliant items
• Communicate effectively with ESP project staff and project construction team
• Report inspections and test results through ESP’s field data collection software

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or associate degree required

• ICC Certifications, strongly preferred, any or all of the following:

• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
