ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Special Inspector / Senior Engineering Technician to perform inspection and testing services related to soils, foundations, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, fireproofing, and post-tensioned concrete.

Responsibilities

1. Review project drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes.
2. Perform Special Inspections in the field for project document and code compliance.
3. Conduct routine and advanced field tests according to ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, DOT, or other standards.
4. Document observations and inspections, noting discrepancies for non-compliant items.
5. Communicate effectively with ESP project staff and construction teams.
6. Report inspections and test results using ESP’s field data collection software.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma, GED, or associate degree required.
2. Experience in inspection and construction testing of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials preferred.
3. ACI Field Grade I Certification preferred.
4. ICC Certifications preferred, including but not limited to:

• ICC Soils
• ICC Reinforced Concrete
• ICC Structural Masonry
• ICC Spray-Applied Fireproofing
• ICC Structural Steel and Bolting

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Attention to detail.

Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.

Occasional overnight hours and travel may be required.

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Must pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record per company policy.
