Job summary

NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC is hiring an ICC Special Inspector for our Charleston, SC office. The role involves conducting structural inspections for rebar and masonry, performing field materials testing, and preparing comprehensive reports. Candidates must hold ICC Reinforced Concrete and/or Structural Masonry certification, with a strong understanding of safety regulations and plans.

NOVA Engineering is seeking an ICC Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete &/or Masonry) for our Charleston, S, C office.

Responsibilities

• Structural inspections for rebar, masonry, post-tensioning, and foundations.
• Performing field materials testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt.
• Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and inspections/observations provided.
• Performing laboratory tests on soil and concrete and preparing reports of results.
• Evaluating site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations.
• Communicating with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues.

Qualifications

• ICC Reinforced Concrete and /or Structural Masonry is required (at least one).
• ICC Structural Steel & Bolting and ICC Structural Welding a plus.
• ICC MSI preferred.
• Ability to learn to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
