Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking an ICC Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete &/or Masonry) for our Charlotte, NC office. The role emphasizes structural inspections, field testing, and detailed reporting to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

The ideal candidate holds ICC Reinforced Concrete or Structural Masonry certification (MSI preferred) and can read and interpret plans, specifications, and safety rules while communicating effectively with clients and staff in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• ICC Reinforced Concrete and/or Structural Masonry is required (at least one).
• ICC Structural Steel & Bolting and ICC Structural Welding a plus.
• ICC MSI preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Structural inspections for rebar, masonry, post-tensioning, and foundations
• Performing field materials testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt
• Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and inspections/observations provided
• Performing laboratory tests on soil and concrete and preparing reports of results
• Evaluating site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations
• Communicating with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues
