Job Description Starting Wage from $19.41/hour (Pay range varies with experience)
- Drives and operates ROW vehicles and equipment, completing tasks and projects safely and efficiently
- Performs daily inspection and maintenance of chainsaws and safety equipment; must operate chainsaws safely and efficiently. Notifies supervisor of safety hazards
- Performs right of way clearing duties, including bucket work, climbing, ground clearing, cutting, chipping, piling, burning, and disposal of brush
- Safely operates special equipment to control vegetation along right of way
- Inspects ROW in front of equipment to flag obstacles (e.g., phone pedestals, guy wires, septic tanks, water and gas lines/meters)
- Performs traffic control duties around the work area as needed
- Understands and promotes safety rules and policies; maintains good relations with crew, cooperatives, and the public
Minimum Qualifications
- This position is safety-sensitive under Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593 and AECC/AECI standards
- Requires a post-offer, pre-employment Fitness for Duty Exam, and DOT Physical
- At least 3 months of experience and/or training
- Valid driver's license required
- Able to work outdoors or indoors in potentially hazardous and life-threatening conditions (fire, chemicals, moving parts, electrical hazards, fumes, heights, dangerous individuals)
- Able to work in extreme temperatures and loud environments
- Capable of performing repetitive and physical tasks
- Willing to travel and stay overnight as needed
- Available for extra hours and non-scheduled work periods
- Training in 29 CFR 1910.269(a)(1)(i)(E)
Experience Requirements
- Special Equipment Operator I: at least 3 months of experience
- Special Equipment Operator II: at least 1 year of experience
Qualifications
- Commercial Applicator Technician
- Class A or B CDL License
- Temporary Traffic Control Certification
