Job summary

Family of Kidz is seeking a Special Educator to provide home and community-based instructional support and school-based opportunities across Dutchess County, NY. The role is fee-for-service and typically afternoon/evening hours for part-time positions.

Responsibilities include developing IEP-aligned lessons, data collection, and regular progress reporting, with collaboration across supervisors and school teams. Certification SWD-7-12 is required or similar credentials.

Qualifications

• NYS Certification SWD-7-12 or all grades (permanent) is required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children and families preferred.
• Bilingual is a plus.

• Work with students in home and community settings to provide individualized lessons aligned to IEP goals.
• Develop creative, multisensory lessons based on IEP goals to engage learners.
• Collect data on IEP goals and report quarterly on progress.
• Maintain communication with lead supervisors and school team.
• Maintain attendance and submit electronic billing daily.
• Attend professional development trainings to stay current on best practices.
• Attend CSE meetings with professionalism and teamwork.

• Develop creative and multi-sensory lessons based on IEP goals to engage and captivate learners with various abilities.
• Collect meaningful data on IEP goals and report quarterly on child’s progress with IEP goals.
• Ongoing communication with lead supervisors and school team.
• Maintain accurate attendance and submit electronic billing on a daily basis.
• Knowledge of discrete trial instruction, natural environment teaching, and incidental teaching is a plus.
• Attend professional development trainings to maintain best practice approach and continue personal development.
• Maintain professionalism with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
• Attend CSE meetings.
