Job summary

Blossom Rock Preparatory Academy is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant (K-5) for Fall 2027 at the Apache Junction campus. The role supports students in both general and resource classrooms under the guidance of certified Special Education and General Education teachers.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small group support, behavior management, and assisting with school-wide routines. Prior experience in special education is preferred; this is an on-site, hourly position with

  • High school diploma or higher required; associate degree preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Interest in reading great books and supporting diverse learners.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in small groups or 1:1 in general and special education settings.
  • Help students with assignments, homework, and modifications to learning materials.
  • Assist with behavior support and social skills development.
  • Support transitions, classroom routines, and safety in all activities.
  • Provide clerical support to the ESS Team and participate in meetings.

Position Title: Special Education Teaching Assistant (K-5) Fall 2027Location: Great Hearts Blossom Rock (10075 S. Dutchman Dr., Apache Junction, AZ 85120)Reports To: HeadmasterFLSA Status: Non-Exempt, HourlyHourly Rate: $16-$18The Instructional Assistant is a non-certified assistant to the Special Education Program at the academy for both general education and special education resource classrooms. The assistant will work to support students in all settings on campus under the direction of and in collaboration with the certified Special Education teachers and General Education teachers. Associate degree (preferred) or two years/60 credit hours of higher education or a passing score on an appropriate ADE assessment.Required/Preferred Experience: Has experience in special education.Required/Preferred Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, and an interest in reading great books.Physical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.US work authorization is required, but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates.Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.This description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions.
