Job summary

Eastern Alamance High is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support students with disabilities in general and special education settings. You will assist in classrooms, non-classroom sites, and community-based learning, under licensed supervision, and help implement IEPs and related supports.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the instructional team, safety, and use of assistive technology to promote student progress and independence in a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 48 hours of college coursework with GPA 2.0+.
• Equivalents accepted; must have valid NC driver's license.
• Ability to use MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint or Google Docs.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with learners and monitor safety.
• Prepare materials and support instruction in EC settings.
• Support independence, self-advocacy, and learning strategies.
• Follow IEPs and communicate progress to licensed staff.
• Assist with adaptive equipment and assistive tech.
