Great Hearts Archway Anthem is hiring a Special Education Teaching Assistant for grades K-5. The role supports students in both general and special education settings under certified teachers, collaborating across classrooms to implement SDI concepts.

The position is on-site at 3950 W Arroyo Norte Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85087 and offers non-exempt hourly pay with strong benefits. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or higher (associate degree preferred) and experience in special education,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in special education preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; interest in reading great books.

Responsibilities

• Support students in small groups or 1:1.
• Assist students with assignments, homework, projects.
• Adapt materials and provide modifications to help students learn.
• Help students understand and reinforce classroom rules.
• Monitor student behavior and use behavior management strategies.
• Assist with de-escalating student behaviors and support general education teachers.
• Assist with transitions and personal hygiene needs; mobility and adaptive equipment as needed.
• Provide general clerical support for the ESS Team.
• Attend meetings and trainings; maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Provide a supportive and positive learning environment.

Position Title: Special Education Teaching Assistant (K-5)Location: Great Hearts Archway Anthem (3950 W Arroyo Norte Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85087)Reports To: HeadmasterFLSA Status: Non-Exempt, HourlyHourly Rate: $16-$18The Instructional Assistant is a non-certified assistant to the Special Education Program at the academy for both general education and special education resource classrooms. The assistant will work to support students in all settings on campus under the direction of and in collaboration with the certified Special Education teachers and General Education teachers. Associate degree (preferred) or two years/60 credit hours of higher education or a passing score on an appropriate ADE assessment.Required/Preferred Experience: Has experience in special education.Required/Preferred Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, and an interest in reading great books.Physical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
