Job description

Reno County Education Cooperative is accepting applications for an elementary special education teacher for Fairfield Schools for the 2025-2026 school year. The special education teacher provides students with a program that will enable them to reach their fullest physical, emotional, psychological, and behavioral potential. The job requires significant self-discipline, internal motivation, and sound judgment.

This is for an anticipated opening at Union Valley Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year.

Reno County Education Cooperative serves the following school districts and programs:

• USD 309 - Nickerson / South Hutchinson
• USD 310 - Fairfield Schools
• USD 311 - Pretty Prairie
• USD 312 - Haven
• USD 313 - Buhler
• Reno County Early Education Center located in Hutchinson, KS
• Transitional Learning Center located in Hutchinson, KS

The special education teacher performs the following essential job functions:

1. Uses effective instructional techniques to stimulate student learning.

5. Oversees a classroom that is conducive to teaching and learning.

10. Conscientiously implements all compliance requirements.

Applicants for this position must hold a valid license or be eligible for a license from the Kansas State Department of Education with an endorsement in high incidence special education, interrelated special education, or adaptive special education K-12.
