The position requires an Educator's Certificate and compliance with Florida standards, including passing the ESE exam within 12 months and ongoing professional development. Office-based, non-telework assignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university;
• Possess or be eligible to apply for a Temporary Florida Department of Corrections Educator's Certificate or a temporary State of Florida Educator's Certificate.
• Special Note: 5 years to obtain the Educator's Professional Certificate.
• Pass the Exceptional Student Education (K12) Subject Area Exam within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education services and teach academic subjects to students with disabilities in a correctional facility.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, conduct IEP meetings, and maintain documentation.
• Guide students through transition planning and coordinate with staff and external agencies.
