Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, seeks a dedicated special education teacher in Peoria, IL to support K-12 students with diverse needs and collaborate with school teams and families using SESI’s instructional models and PBIS framework.

You will manage individualized lesson plans, implement behavior strategies, and document progress in IEPs and related records to help students shine in inclusive classroom settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• PEL with LBS1 endorsement.
• Commitment to learning and implementing feedback.
• Adaptability and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Use SESI’s instructional models and curricula to teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and meet the needs of all students.
• Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Implement behavior management and intervention strategies, including de-escalation techniques and crisis management to maintain student and staff safety.
• Maintain student documents such as IEPs, BIPs, incident reports, and high-risk evaluation forms.
• Drive, record, and track student growth and progress toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
• Supervise and monitor students, including to and from locations within the school.
