Qualifikationen

• State certification in Cross-Categorical SPED (1801), Intellectual Disabilities (1811), or Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (1830).
• Experience with autism, cognitive delays, EBD, and related disabilities preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provides individualized education and engages students in active learning.
• Facilitates IEP meetings and serves as case manager of the IEP for students under caseload.
• Updates Progress Reports according to trimester marking period.
• Ensures classroom environment and activities develop independence, competence and self-worth.
• Incorporates thematic teaching units in the curriculum.
• Assigns and supervises specific teaching tasks to ESPs/DSPs.
• Collaborates with departments to implement BIP's or FBAs.
• Uses agency-approved treatment techniques in supervision and education.
• Demonstrates flexibility in meeting changing student needs.
• Teaches in a classroom with 7–10 students on average.
