Job summary

ProCare Therapy seeks an Affective Needs Special Education Teacher to support elementary students at Leroy Elementary in the North Denver area. You will develop IEPs, collaborate with teachers, and deliver targeted supports to foster social-emotional growth.

The role requires an active Colorado SPED license, strong teamwork, and the ability to manage credentialing timelines. This 37.5-hour/week contract offers a stable assignment with ongoing benefits.

Qualifications

  • Active Colorado Teacher License with Special Education Generalist Endorsement (Ages 5-21).
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with affective needs.
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, specialists and families.
  • Ability to complete credentialing paperwork quickly and accurately.
  • Experience in elementary settings preferred; strong special ed background welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Affective Needs Teacher for a caseload at Leroy Elementary.
  • Create and modify IEP goals aligned to each students strengths and needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff to deliver targeted interventions.
  • Maintain detailed progress and classroom documentation for state/district compliance.
  • Attend meetings and team discussions to support holistic student growth.

Job description

As a valued Special Education Teacher, youll have the chance to make a meaningful impact working with elementary students in the North Denver area. You'll enjoy a consistent assignment at a single elementary school, providing structure for you and continuity for your students.

What were looking for:
  • Hold an active Colorado Teacher License with Special Education Generalist Endorsement (Ages 5-21).
  • Experienced in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with affective needs.
  • Comfortable collaborating with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining compliance and completing time-sensitive district credentialing paperwork quickly.
  • Skilled at adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs and facilitate their social-emotional growth.
  • Prefer experience in an elementary school setting, but a strong background in special education is welcomed.
Key responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Affective Needs Teacher for a dedicated caseload at Leroy Elementary, guiding students toward academic and behavioral success.
  • Create, modify, and implement IEP goals aligned with each students unique strengths and challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with school staff to develop and deliver targeted interventions and supports.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and classroom activities, ensuring compliance with state and district requirements.
  • Engage in school meetings and team discussions to ensure holistic support for each student.

This contract position is available for an immediate start and extends through October 2nd, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours at one school location.
