Key Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Mission Alignment: Commitment to KIPP DC’s mission and antiracist goals; build trusting relationships.
  • Instructional Responsiveness & Content Knowledge: Deliver engaging lessons aligned with standards and IEPs; perform clerical duties; participate in meetings.
  • IEP Case Management: Manage caseloads, create IEP summaries, monitor progress, collaborate with providers, and document thoroughly.
  • Care of Students & Classroom Culture: Foster a classroom environment of empowerment and inclusion; implement PBIS and de-escalation strategies.
  • Other Responsibilities: Attend to school duties, events, and perform background checks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Required)
  • Minimum two years of experience in Special Education with IEPs (Required)
  • Experience working with underserved communities (Required)
  • One year of public school teaching or student teaching (Preferred)
  • Content area expertise (Preferred)

  • Starting at $65,500, with potential up to $5,000 renewal bonuses annually.
