Special Education Teacher (SPED) - Summary

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with varying disabilities, ensuring all learners have access to a meaningful and equitable education.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, support staff, and families to promote student achievement and well‑being.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, independence, and social-emotional development.

• Assess students’ academic performance, functional skills, and social-emotional growth using a variety of methods and tools.
• Write and maintain accurate, up-to-date IEPs, progress reports, and other required documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and professional development opportunities.
• Implement positive behavioral interventions and support plans as needed to enhance student engagement and success.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies for support.
• Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal special education laws and policies.
