Job summary

Children's Health Council in California seeks a Special Education Teacher to plan and deliver instruction based on Common Core, differentiated strategies, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) while helping students achieve IEP goals in classrooms up to 12 students.

You will collaborate with embedded clinical and behavior colleagues to create inclusive learning environments for students with autism, ADHD, and learning differences.

Qualifications

• Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe) or intern credential.
• Intern-level credential required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Experience in a special education classroom, RSP, or inclusion setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement differentiated instruction aligned to Common Core.
• Develop IEPs, BIPs, and accommodations/modifications.
• Collaborate with Behavior Specialists to implement PBIS/PBT.
• Monitor progress with formal and informal assessments and maintain portfolios.
• Lead parent-teacher conferences and engage families.
• Present progress and proposed goals at IEP meetings.
• Administer CAASPP and other standardized assessments.
• Support paraprofessionals and team meetings.
• Uphold school policies and confidentiality.
