Yorktown Central School District seeks a Special Education Teacher in a highly specialized program for students with severe disabilities. You will maximize learning in academics, social/emotional development and life skills, document progress, and ensure a safe, optimal learning environment.

Must hold NYS Certification in Special Education/Students with Disabilities and have experience with autism and ABA methodologies. Prior experience with NYS Alternate Assessment preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provide specially designed instruction based on identified needs and strengths.
• Progress monitor student growth.
• Conduct assessments and diagnostic examinations to identify learning issues.
• Participate in CSE meetings and assist in IEP development.
• Implement students' IEPs and behavior plans.
• Supervise support staff in the classroom.
• Provide staff training and support in the classroom.
• Coordinate with outside agencies as needed.
• Communicate with administrators to ascertain student abilities and needs.
• Serve as liaison between home and school and counsel parents.
• Maintain records and stay current with district procedures and laws.
• Encourage parental involvement and effective communication.
