They will be expected to perform duties customary to a high school teacher. Those duties include preparing lessons toward mastery of the state standards, collaborating with other faculty, small group instruction, differentiating instruction and providing interventions, working with administrators and coaches to improve performance, monitoring students, and collaborate and communicate with parents and other stakeholders. Developing and administering assessments is also required as well as instructing students in accordance with their IEP's and holding IEP meetings.
An active TN teaching license is required for this Special Education position with the proper endorsements for Junior High School Self-Contained classroom.
