Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education (preferred).
• Experience teaching in self-contained Mild/Moderate SDC classrooms (preferred).
• Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and assistive technology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals.
• Deliver Common Core-aligned instruction in a self-contained classroom.
• Use evidence-based teaching methods and positive behavior supports.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, paraeducators, and families.
• Monitor student progress through data collection and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Lead IEP meetings and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
• Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture.
• Maintain regular communication with families to support home–school partnerships.
