Job description

Join Boston Speech Therapy as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Science for our High School program! We are offering a competitive pay range of $50 to $60 per hour based on experience. This is a one year contract position at a charter school for the 25/26 SY.

Your role will involve working closely with students with diverse learning needs, providing them with tailored instruction in the sciences. You will be responsible for creating an engaging learning environment that promotes both academic achievement and personal growth.

*Key Responsibilities*

  • Deliver specialized science instruction to students with varying disabilities
  • Assist in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Apply innovative teaching strategies to increase student engagement and understanding
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to provide inclusive educational experiences
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed

*Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Science Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • State certification in Special Education
  • Special Education Licence MA or waiver opportunities
  • Experience teaching science at the high school level, preferably to students with special needs
  • Strong knowledge of diverse instructional strategies
  • Familiarity with behavioral support strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
