Job description

We are currently seeking two certified Special Education Teachers for full-time positions working with students in the Philadelphia, PA 19131 area for the 2025–2026 school year. One teacher will support students in an Emotional Support (ES) setting, and the other will work with students in an Autistic Support (AS) setting. Both positions will begin at the start of the school year and continue through June 2026. Eligible candidates must be certified in Special Education in Pennsylvania and possess current, up-to-date clearances.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a valid Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (K–12 or appropriate grade band)
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree (at minimum)
  • Must have current, up-to-date Pennsylvania clearances:
    • FBI Fingerprints
    • PA Criminal Background Check
    • PA Child Abuse Clearance
    • Act 168, Act 24
  • Mandated Reporter Training
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students in either Emotional or Autistic Support programs
  • Modify instructional strategies and materials to meet the diverse learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students
  • Create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student independence and success
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, support staff, and families to support student progress and inclusion
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress toward IEP goals using data-driven decision-making
  • Provide behavior management support and implement positive behavior intervention plans (PBIS/FBAs) as needed
  • Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes emotional regulation, communication, and functional academic skills
