Job summary

E-Therapy is seeking an On-Site Special Education Teacher in Walterboro, SC to support elementary students with disabilities. The position is full-time (37.5 hours/week) with a starting pay of $43/hour, commensurate with experience.

Candidates must hold a South Carolina multi-categorical endorsement and have a valid Special Education license or licensure eligibility. Both on-site and cross-license opportunities are described in the offer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid state teaching license or certification in Special Education.
• Experience teaching students with disabilities in a school setting.
• Valid SC licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Special Education Teacher in the state of residence.
• Interest in virtual or on-site teaching; teletherapy experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities with collaboration from parents and school staff.
• Provide instruction in core academics and functional skills; adapt materials to meet diverse needs.
• Use evidence-based practices and assistive technology to support learning.
• Monitor progress towards IEP goals and adjust interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with general education staff to provide accommodations in inclusive settings.
• Maintain documentation of progress, IEP meetings, and communications with families.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and support staff guidance.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team at E-Therapy. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, collaborating with school staff and families to ensure academic success and personal growth.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, based on thorough assessments and collaboration with parents, school staff, and related service providers.
• Provide specialized instruction in core academic subjects and functional skills, adapting curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Use evidence-based teaching practices and assistive technologies to facilitate student learning and achievement.
• Monitor and assess students' progress towards IEP goals, adjusting instructional strategies and interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusive practices and provide accommodations and modifications for students in the general education setting.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, IEP meetings, and communication with parents and other stakeholders.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP meetings and student support team meetings, to develop and review student progress and interventions.
• Provide support and guidance to paraprofessionals and other support staff working with students with disabilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid state teaching license or certification in Special Education.
• Previous experience teaching students with disabilities in a school setting.
• Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Special Education Teacher in state in which they live (and in which they are teaching if remote)
• Passionate about working with students in a virtual or on-site setting to help them achieve their best
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and behavior management techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, school staff, and related service providers.
• Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
• Experience in teletherapy or online instruction (preferred).
