Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team in an amazing school setting. You will develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and work closely with staff, families, and therapists to monitor student progress.

The role includes collaborating with teachers, documenting progress, and contributing to a supportive, inclusive learning environment with strong mentorship and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Teaching License with endorsements in Special Education.
• Experience working with K-12 children.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each of the students in your care
• Communicate with other staff and family members about each student's progress and struggles
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them to administrators for approval
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to keep each student on the path toward greatness
• Invite family members to participate in each student's educational progress
• Create and distribute progress reports quarterly
• Confer with on-site therapist over disciplinary and behavioral issues with students
• Create a safe, productive classroom environment
