Job summary

BlazerJobs, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a maternity leave coverage. This full-time, onsite position runs from October 16, 2026, to January 15, 2027, with a collaborative team and a focus on high functional life skills for K-5 students.

You will work with a team of aides to implement IEPs, manage records, and engage families to promote student independence and growth throughout the contract period.

Qualifications

• Active Special Education Educator Certificate required.
• Experience teaching K-5 students, ideally within a SPED or high functioning life skills setting.
• Strong classroom management and organization skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teacher assistants and related services staff.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction to a group of approximately 8 students alongside 3 teaching assistants.
• Develop and tailor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet diverse student needs.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that enhances student learning and growth.
• Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates on student progress.
• Work closely with families and school specialists to ensure best outcomes for all learners.
• Implement life skills curriculum and support student independence.

A dedicated Special Education Teacher is needed to provide coverage during a maternity leave this upcoming school year. This full-time, onsite role runs from October 16, 2026, through January 15, 2027, offering a unique chance to engage directly with a supportive team and make an immediate impact.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction to a group of approximately 8 students alongside 3 teaching assistants

This position follows a consistent schedule, running from 8:15 am to 3:45 pm each weekday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Collaborate with a welcoming school community while developing meaningful relationships with students and staff during your contract.
