Job summary

Torrington Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the Life Skills Program at Torrington Middle School (Grades 7-8). The teacher will provide individualized instruction in alignment with IEPs and promote academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth in a structured, inclusive classroom.

Special Education Teacher for the Life Skills Program at Torrington Middle School (Grades 7-8).Applicants must holdor be eligible for a valid State of Connecticut teaching certificate with appropriate Special Education endorsement. The Special Education Teacheris responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities in alignment with their IEPs. They collaborate with general education teachers, families, and service providers to ensure access to the curriculum and promote academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. The teacher also monitors progress, maintains documentation, and creates a structured, inclusive learning environment tailored to diverse student needs.

Salary and Terms of Employment

Ten-month work year, 186 days. Salary Range $44,529 - $107,769 in accordance with the Torrington Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement
