Overview

Salary: $2200 / Week

Modality: Special Education Teacher - PEL w/LBS1 Required

Grade Level: 2x - K-4th grade; 1x - 5th - 8th grade

Caseload Details: Average caseload of 20 students, focusing on push in and pull out supports, primarily in the areas of reading (fluency and comprehension) and foundational math skills. Most common disabilities: SLD and DD.

Start/End date: ASAP - EOY

Start/End time: 40 hours/week

Breaks paid/unpaid: Paid

Responsibilities

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The teacher collaborates in planning and implementing student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
  • Minimum of one year experience in a teaching environment (preferred)
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching (preferred)
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching (preferred)
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching (preferred)
  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
