Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is hiring a Special Education Teacher for an elementary setting in the Providence area for the 2026-2027 school year. This long-term contract is 35 hours per week and may place you in a resource/inclusion setting or a self-contained classroom, depending on district openings.

You will provide instruction aligned to IEP goals, collaborate with teachers and families, and monitor student progress.

Qualifications

Job description

Empower young learners as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting for the 2026-2027 school year! This long-term contract position offers meaningful work supporting elementary-aged students in the Providence area. As part of a collaborative educational team, you'll make a significant impact by guiding students with diverse learning needs and helping them thrivewhether in a resource/inclusion capacity or within a self-contained classroom, depending on current district openings.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education license from the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) specific to your grade band (Early Childhood, Elementary, or Secondary)
• Compliance with the Right to Read Act: certified in, or committed to completing within one year, Rhode Islands Structured Literacy proficiency requirement
• Experience or strong interest in supporting elementary students in both inclusion and/or self-contained classroom environments
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored instruction and support for elementary students with diverse learning needs in accordance with IEPs and district goals
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to create individualized learning plans and monitor progress
• Adapt curriculum and instruction to ensure each students success within the general education setting or in a specialized environment as needed
• Employ evidence-based teaching strategies and maintain detailed documentation related to student achievement
• Participate actively in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development
