Job summary

NCIA in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction for students with diverse learning needs. The role focuses on aligning lessons with IEP goals, collaborating with clinical and support teams, and maintaining a structured classroom.

The ideal candidate holds Maryland MSDE special education certification (or eligibility) and has experience with IEPs, lesson planning, differentiation, and behavior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• MSDE special education certification or eligibility to obtain Maryland certification.
• Experience with IEPs, lesson planning, differentiation, classroom management, or supervising paraeducators is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and differentiated instruction based on scholars’ academic and learning needs.
• Develop and implement lesson plans, instructional activities, accommodations, and modifications.
• Support scholars in meeting their IEP goals and monitor and document progress.
• Implement classroom and behavioral supports and monitor safety as appropriate.
• Collaborate with clinical, behavioral, academic, and support staff to address scholars’ needs.
• Communicate with families and LEAs as appropriate.
