Job summary

The Vanguard School & Services is seeking a Classroom Teacher in Malvern, PA. The role supports students with various special needs, using a holistic approach across education, recreation and employment services.

You will plan daily lessons, track progress, and collaborate with staff to uphold high standards of care and learning. This 10-month, full-time position requires PA certification, strong communication, and a commitment to respectful, individualized education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, or related field.
• Current, valid Pennsylvania certification for assignment.
• Exposure to and participation in special education programming.
• Ability to treat each student with respect and dignity.
• Ability to engage intellectually and physically in all classroom activities.
• Ability to collaborate with administrators, colleagues, students and parents.
• Strong command of English usage, grammar and vocabulary.
• Proficient with computers and clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily lessons and monitor student progress.
• Maintain accurate records and report on student progress.
• Plan instructional lessons aligned to goals for individual students.
• Develop and monitor student goals throughout the year.
• Implement behavioral plans and document incidents.
• Supervise students during all activities to ensure safety.
• Provide differentiated instruction and timely assessment.
• Coordinate with specialists and use available resources.
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences as scheduled.
• Maintain classroom appearance and inventory, and manage materials.
• Assist with budgeting and purchasing materials with supervisor.
• Demonstrate Vanguard core values in daily practice.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, or related field

PA teaching certification (Current, valid)

English language proficiency

Computer literacy and clerical skills

Ability to engage students respectfully
