Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• Shall possess a Special Education Certificate (AZ DoE requirements)
• Arizona Teaching Licensure
• Specific certification where applicable (e.g., Early Childhood Education Certificate, CC for Cross Category Specialists)
• Experience with IEP writing, meetings, etc.
• Experience working with K-12 children

Responsibilities

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each student
• Communicate with staff and family about student progress and struggles
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them to administrators for approval
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to support student growth
• Invite family members to participate in student progress
• Create and distribute progress reports quarterly
• Consult with on-site therapist about disciplinary and behavioral issues
• Create a safe, productive classroom environment

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field

Special Education Certificate (AZ DoE requirements)

Arizona Teaching Licensure

Early Childhood Education Certificate (where applicable)
