Qualifications

• Develop and implement student IEPs in accordance with Indiana's Special Education Rules.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop behavior intervention plans.
• Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and health.
• Collect progress monitoring data aligned with IEP goals.
• Create daily lessons and prepare materials and classroom for activities.
• Establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects and convey to students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement student IEPs in accordance with Indiana’s Special Education Rules.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop, implement, and revise behavior intervention plans.
• Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
• Collect progress monitoring data in accordance with students’ IEP goals.
• Create daily lessons and prepare materials and the classroom for class activities.
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
• Instruct and direct paraprofessionals to maximize service delivery.
• Collaborate with parents or guardians, teachers, service providers, and administration.
• Meet with families to discuss progress and priorities for resource needs.
• Enforce school policies and rules governing students.
• Attend professional meetings, conferences, and workshops to maintain competence.
• Attend staff meetings and participate on committees as required.
• Collaborate with teachers and admins on school program development and evaluation.
• Manage classroom equipment, materials, and inventory.
