Job summary

Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Missouri is seeking a Teacher for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Qualifications

  • Missouri Teaching Certificate or eligible to attain temporary or provisional certification.
  • Experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • The position requires a professional license pursuant to state law.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement an individualized education program for students with disabilities using MSSD curriculum and transition goals.
  • Analyze learning style to adapt teaching strategies.
  • Select age-appropriate activities and materials for teaching.
  • Integrate related services into the instructional program.
  • Conduct IEP team and special education meetings.
  • Coordinate behavioral support/intervention plans for challenging behaviors.
  • Coordinate communication systems for students.
  • Create and follow an efficient daily schedule for IEP implementation.
  • Direct daily activities of teacher aide(s) and volunteers.
  • Follow student health care procedures as specified.
  • Maintain a safe environment and confidentiality of information.
  • Follow MSSD policies and guidelines and complete reports on deadlines.
  • Develop a professional development plan and collect data to improve learning.
  • Carry out daily self-care needs of students.
