Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid Georgia Teacher Certification for area of specialization required.
• 0–1 year classroom experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develops or selects and modifies lessons and materials to meet individual student needs.
• Uses special methodology to support student progress using GPS standards.
• Develops, implements, monitors, and reviews the IEP for each student on the caseload.
• Addresses needs of students with disabilities (lifting/positioning as needed).
• Administers evaluations of student progress and maintains records.
• Follows due process procedures for referrals and eligibility.
• Performs duties in line with general education teacher expectations.
• Collaborates with parents/guardians on education plans and progress.
• Facilitates home-school communication through conferences, calls, and notes.
• Uses technology to support instruction.
• Serves as a resource to general education staff and related services personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
