Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or special education.
• PA Special Education certification required for the relevant grade level.
• Minimum one year of full-time experience in a structured educational program with behavioral, therapeutic and traditional supports.
• Understanding of state and federal regulations pertaining to special education.
• Ability to direct, plan, and use good judgment to stimulate learning.
• Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction and daily management of paraprofessionals assigned to the program.
• Collaborates with the IEP team to develop educational programs targeting academic and social/emotional growth.
• Collects and monitors data to inform progress and instructional decisions.
• Works with related service staff, parents, and agencies to integrate disciplines into the program.
• Maintains a healthy, safe classroom environment for students with emotional disturbance.
• Implements positive behavior support strategies to manage student behavior.
• Maintains home-school communication for consistency and feedback.
• Adheres to applicable procedures, policies, and regulations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in education or special education
