Job summary

KIPP Tulsa is seeking a Special Education teacher to deliver high-quality, individualized instruction for students with exceptionalities, collaborating with general educators, families, and service providers to implement IEPs.

You will lead IEP meetings, monitor progress, collect data, and maintain compliant records while embodying KIPP's values and supporting a joyful, inclusive learning environment.

This is a Full-Time, 10-month teaching role with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Mild/Moderate Disabilities (or eligibility).
  • Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and compliance.
  • Experience with students with exceptionalities in secondary school.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with families and colleagues.
  • Background check clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction to students with IEPs in inclusion, resource, or self-contained settings.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state/federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and assessments.
  • Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction and progress toward IEP goals.
  • Participate in and facilitate IEP meetings with families.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with IDEA and OSDE guidelines.
  • Collaborate with school psychologists, counselors, and other service providers.
