Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is hiring dedicated Special Education Teachers in Benton Harbor, MI for a full-time position. You will work with Preschool ECDD and ASD Elementary students, supporting transitions from Early On IFSPs to PreK and managing IEP-related responsibilities.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in Special Education with a valid Michigan license, and experience with assistive communication tools and collaboration with ancillary staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution.
• Valid Special Education teaching license or certification in Michigan.
• Preschool ECDD teacher: Experience with ancillary staff pushing into the classroom; understanding Early On IFSPs to PreK; experience with ECO forms.
• ASD Elementary teacher: Documentation, case management and IEP requirements; experience with ancillary staff pushing into the classroom; behavior management and accommodations; experience with assistive communication technology (Core Boards, visuals, iPads); Interprofessional Practice skills; experience with BIPs and FBAs.

Responsibilities

• Support preschool ECDD with Early On IFSP transitions and preparation for PreK.
• Assist with documentation, case management and IEP compliance for students.
• Collaborate with ancillary staff pushing into the classroom to support students.
• Implement accommodations and behavior supports as part of IEPs.
• Utilize assistive communication technology (Core Boards, visuals, iPads) to facilitate learning.
