Overview

Beach Cities Learning/Learn Academy in San Gabriel, CA is looking for a full-time Special Education Teacher with an extensive support need teaching credential.

We offer tuition reimbursement and relocation assistance.

We provide an Induction Program to clear the credential.

The FACS program serves students with Autism and/or on the Autism Spectrum, who may have coexisting Intellectual Disabilities. Our classrooms utilize the STAR program (Strategies for Teaching Based on Autism Research) and the Unique Learning System, which delivers standards-based instruction through interactive tools, differentiated for all ability levels. Below is a summary of the program components:

The classroom has no more than 12 students. Relocation assistance is available.

Learn Academy, a division of Learn It Systems, is a certified K-12 Private Day School approved by the California Department of Education, providing Special Education Services to students with Mild to Moderate Disabilities.

Learn Academy employs a structured, school-wide Positive Behavioral Supports program that teaches academic, social/emotional, and problem-solving strategies. All staff are trained in a methodology that promotes positive decision-making. We value collaboration, integrity, and a passion to make a difference in students' lives.

  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Create instructional activities to foster active engagement and meaningful learning.
  • Select and modify resources to meet diverse student needs.
  • Assess curricular needs and propose improvements.
  • Maintain a positive environment encouraging active student participation.
Qualifications
  • Valid California Special Education Credential in Moderate to Severe Disabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with students with emotional disabilities preferred.
  • Spanish speaking skills are a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands include:
