Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our staff in Bernalillo, NM. You will create and execute IEPs for students, collaborate with families, and ensure progress in a bright and supportive school environment. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in a relevant field and a Special Education certificate (NM DoE).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Special Education Certificate (NM DoE requirements).
• Experience with IEP writing, meetings, etc.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each student.
• Communicate with staff and family about each student's progress and challenges.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them for administrator approval.
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school.
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to support student progress.
• Invite family members to participate in each student's educational progress.
• Create and distribute progress reports quarterly.
• Consult with on-site therapists on disciplinary and behavioral issues.
• Create a safe, productive classroom environment.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
