Qualifications:

• New York State Special Education Teacher Certification required
• At least 2 years of teaching experience required
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Master's Degree preferred

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate and instruct small groups and individuals
• Identify and support at-risk students in coordination with necessary personnel
• Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Use developmentally appropriate curricula aligned with standards
• Present new ideas and concepts, inspiring student exploration
• Modify instructional plans to meet individual needs
• Analyze assessment data to inform instruction
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress
• Participate in student assessments and develop intervention strategies
• Refer students for additional services when necessary
• Develop and review IEPs and suggest supports
• Maintain organized records and reports
• Advocate for students understanding of Special Education law
• Perform other duties as assigned
