Job Description

Seeking a qualified teacher to provide special education instruction at the elementary school level. Reports to and is evaluated by the Principal.

Qualifications

• Hold or be eligible for licensure in Virginia with appropriate special education endorsement.
• Demonstrated understanding of standards‑based curriculum, research‑based instructional strategies, and effective assessment practices.
• Ability to model and promote a culture of high expectations for student and staff performance.
• Understanding of continuous school improvement and Effective Schools research.
• Ability to disaggregate and use data to inform instruction.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including students with disabilities, English language learners, students who live in poverty, and students who are gifted.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative/shared‑leadership environment.
