Job summary

The Special Education Teacher at Amergis is a contract full-time position located in Chicago, IL. The role delivers instructional services for students from kindergarten through 12th grade under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator.

Responsibilities include planning with general education staff, implementing student-specific programs, providing tutoring, and offering consultation to other staff while adhering to applicable standards and regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred.
State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred.
State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred.
Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
Current CPR if applicable.
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.

Responsibilities
