Job summary

Robstown ISD seeks a qualified Special Education teacher to deliver learning activities and experiences designed to support the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth of students with disabilities. You will develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons aligned to student ability levels.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Certified Special Education.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.

Responsibilities

Primary Purpose

Provide special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to student ability levels. Work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned.

Salary is based on Robstown ISD Salary Schedule at a Bachelor's Degree. Placement on the Salary Schedule is based on years of relevant experience and education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university
• Certified Special Education
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
• Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementation
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Experience

• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
