Special Education Teacher - Bethesda (Full-Time)

Position Overview: The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to work with students at Bethesda in the residential program. This classroom is for 7th - 12th grade students.

Start Date: 2025-2026 school year

Salary (2025-2026 school year):

Bachelor's $63,830

Master's $65,971

Master's +15 $67,385

Master's +30 $69,097

187 work days per year, 37.5 hour work week.

10 paid sick days, 3 Personal Days, 2 Emergency Days(based on start date)

Full Medical-PPO, Dental, Prescription, and Vision Coverage for Employee and Dependents on hire date. ($75.00/ month premium+ deductible)

Required minimum 7.5% contribution to Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement System (PSERS).

Required Qualifications:
- Certification in Special Education 7-12 or PK-12

Desired Qualifications:
- Certification in regular education

- Knowledge of various disability categories (i.e. Developmental Delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language)

Essential Functions:
- Developing lessons and teaching children in classrooms
- Conducting evaluations to determine eligibility for services
- Writing Evaluation Reports and Individualized Education Plans for students
- Providing services as determined through the IEP process
- Inputting data utilizing the PELICAN system
