Job summary

The Learning Spectrum in Johnstown, OH is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction for students with autism and other disabilities. You will design lessons, align with IEPs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a structured, compassionate learning environment.

You will use evidence-based strategies, monitor progress with data, support social, academic and life skills, and communicate with families to foster growth.

Qualifications

• Flexible, positive attitude toward students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies for individualized learning and behavioral interventions.
• Knowledge of ABA, structured teaching, and relationship-based interventions for ASD.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and use instructional strategies, materials, and activities to meet diverse learning styles.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with IEPs and TLS curriculum.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop and implement IEP goals.
• Support students in building study habits, learning strategies, and self-regulation skills.
• Evaluate and modify educational and behavioral interventions using data and team input.
• Create a classroom environment that supports academic progress, social growth, and emotional well-being.
