Special Education Teacher at Hillside Elementary (MAPS) starting 2026‑2027. JobID: 3567.
Position will begin August 2026, with screening to begin immediately.
The Special Education Teacher – MAPS will evaluate, design, and implement specialized instruction tailored to students with disabilities. This role serves as a member of the Student Services Team and assessment team to support individualized student learning needs. The teacher will foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment supporting academic and social‑emotional growth and provide leadership in developing special education programs and interventions in collaboration with staff and families.
Ensuring compliance with state and federal special education laws and maintaining accurate student records and IEP documentation are key responsibilities. The teacher will also support and guide instructional assistants in delivering effective special education services.

The ideal candidate will hold a current Oregon Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement, strong collaborative and leadership skills, and a passion for working alongside general education teachers, specialists, and families.
Experience designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) is highly valued, along with knowledge of special education laws and compliance requirements. Maintaining a positive, professional, cooperative relationship with students, staff, and families and demonstrating excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills are critical for success.

Salary range: $46,548–$90,846 plus master’s stipend of $2,327 (depending upon approved prior experience and graduate‑level credits).
