Eagle Point School District 9 (EPSD9) is seeking a collaborative and compassionate Special Education Instructional Assistant to support students in the Resource Program at Eagle Point Middle School. This role supports students with mild to moderate disabilities, providing targeted academic interventions, classroom assistance, and small group instruction in a structured and supportive learning environment.
Located in the scenic Rogue Valley of southern Oregon, EPSD9 serves the communities of Eagle Point, White City, and surrounding rural areas. With roughly 3,650 students across the district, we offer the best of both worlds—tight-knit school communities and access to bigger-city amenities. Our schools focus on equity, inclusion, and preparing all students for success in life beyond the classroom.
The Resource Special Education Instructional Assistant works under the direction of licensed special education staff to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), provide academic and behavioral support, and promote student progress in both general education and special education settings. This may include working one-on-one with students, leading small group instruction, supporting classroom accommodations, collecting progress data, and assisting with student supervision.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with middle school students, has a passion for helping students succeed, and can adapt easily to the varying needs of learners. A supportive team environment and ongoing training are part of the package.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet one of the following: two years of postsecondary education, an associate's degree or higher, or a passing score on the district's reading, writing, and math assessment. CPR/First Aid certification and CPI training are required (training will be provided if needed). A valid Oregon driver's license and reliable transportation are also required. Experience working with students who have disabilities and behavioral challenges is preferred. Candidates should be flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable navigating a busy school environment.
This is more than a job—it's a chance to make a lasting difference during a critical stage in a student's development. Eagle Point Middle School is a collaborative and welcoming environment where staff support one another and work together to meet the needs of every learner. You'll gain hands‑on experience, grow professionally, and know that your work matters every single day.
