Job summary

The Special Education Teaching Assistant position supports student success in the school environment for a class or individual student. The TA works under the direction of a licensed teacher, assisting with social-emotional regulation, communication and linguistic needs, motor and sensory development, and health-related services and academic support.

This role helps increase student engagement and availability for learning and may support students in both general education and special education

The Special Education Teaching Assistant position supports success in the school environment for a classroom of students, small groups of students, or an individual student. The Special Education Teaching Assistant works under the direction of a licensed teacher in assisting students with social-emotional regulation, communication and linguistic needs, motor and sensory development, and any health-related services and/or academic and functional support. This level of support increases the student's engagement and availability for learning. The Special Education Teaching Assistant may support students in both the general education and special education classrooms.

Annualized Salary

$29,936 - $31,128

Selection Procedure

The interview process will be led and articulated by the school administration, and they are typically assisted by other instructional staff members from the school and/or district.
