Job summary

Academy for Advancement of Children with Autism (AACA) in Chatsworth, CA, seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to design IEP-aligned lessons and apply ABA strategies for students with severe needs. Collaboration with therapists and families is essential, along with maintaining accurate records and participating in IEP meetings.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:30 PM, with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe) required.
• Experience working with students with severe behavioral needs strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of ABA principles, de-escalation strategies, and individualized supports.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Use behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports effectively.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and behavior specialists.
• Track and document student progress and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress.
• Foster a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff trainings, and professional development activities.
