Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our dedicated team in Connecticut. You will manage a caseload of up to 10 students, implement academic and behavior programming, and oversee IEPs while collaborating with a BCBA and therapists.

The role emphasizes Applied Behavior Analysis, Direct Instruction, and Precision Teaching to maximize student success in a state-approved K-12 program. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• CT certification in special education
• Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis/Precision Teaching/Direct Instruction
• Some experience working with students with challenging behaviors
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Knowledge of appropriate referral procedures
• Ability to remain composed and adhere to best practices under duress
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills, Therap experience a plus
• Empathy, enthusiasm, and dedication to helping others

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload up to 10 students within a classroom, including implementing academic and behavior programming and overseeing each student’s IEP
• Provide supervision and delegate responsibilities to Instructional Assistants and ABA Therapists
• Collaborate with BCBA and other team members to develop and implement student programming
• Maintain data-based decision making to maximize student success
